All products made with duck feathers are extremely comfortable, to a luxurious level. The products made with those feathers generally offer softness, lightweight, breathable all rolled into one extremely comfortable comforter, duvet, pillow and so forth.
Where does it come from?
As you might have guessed, products made from the feathers of a duck come directly from the duck.
The feathers used are usually from the underside of the duck where the fluff is thick and soft. These are the feathers used to insulate the duck during the winter. In other words, nature created the perfect insulator.
The quality of the product
There are many different measurements quality when it comes to the feathered product. For example, the product could be stuffed with a mixture of duck and goose feathers.
This can be good in that it might make the product firmer. But this could also be bad in that the goose feathers might aggravate the skin. You would look for a product that is preferably 100% duck feathers and down or 100% goose.
An insulating product
When it is freezing you want to keep warm without layering with heavy blankets and bed covers.
The duvets and comforters made using duck feathers have excellent thermal properties and good lofting characteristics. This means that the feathers trap small pockets of air efficiently. The small pockets of air provide the thermal barrier.
The product also has the added property that it can be packed into very small spaces.
